Philip Jerge
FOUNDER
Having worked with Japanese learners since 2004, Philip Jerge was recruited in 2018 as a founding teacher and English language specialist at a major metropolitan English language instructional center. Working alongside the center’s management and a major education company’s curriculum team, he helped design initial offerings for a wide array of full immersion English language programs. During his time at the center, Phil took on increasing responsibilities for leadership and program administration, supervising three floors and overseeing the work of up to 100 teachers per day, and over time taking responsibility for sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and training new teachers and eventually new teams of trainers for teaching staff.

Dr. Richard Hunt
CHIEF CONSULTANT
Richard Hunt is a writing consultant and college writing teacher; he earned his doctorate in 2016, specializing in rhetorical theory, rhetorics of social protest, and science fiction. As a teacher, Richard focuses on pedagogies that help students connect their work in the classroom to their lives outside the classroom and that develop student literacy skills along with life skills. As a researcher and writer, his interests include using writing as a means for intellectual and personal development, exploring interrelationships between students’ academic achievement and mental health, and using rhetorical theory as a lens for analyzing the politics and processes of listening in US literature, pop culture, and public and political discourse.

Warren Petredis
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PARTNER
Warren is a life-long native of Southern California, residing previously in Los Angeles and currently in Orange County. He first met Philip in 2011, and since that time, they have maintained a close friendship as well as a strong business partnership. Over the years, Warren has collaborated extensively with Philip on a variety of business development projects, efforts that played a significant role in the establishment of CA-Consulting Above. Warren brings to the table a diverse and extensive background across multiple private sector industries, including aerospace, medical devices, technology, research and development, and business development.
